Where are you going in 2011?

We’ve been planning our personal and ministry calendars for 2011, and they’re both filling up quickly! We seem to be in a season of life and a season of children’s ministry where there are more opportunities than ever.

We thought you might be planning ahead, too, so we wanted to recommend a couple of GREAT training opportunities that you would really enjoy:

A highlight every year is INCM’s Children’s Pastors’ Conferences (CPC). CPC has a great mixture of practical workshops and inspiring general sessions. This year CPC will be held in Orlando (Jan 12-15, 2011) and San Diego (Mar 15-18, 2011). Becki and I will be leading a two-part training on preteens at each CPC and KidZ At Heart will be exhibiting, so please stop by and see us! If you want to set up coffee or a meeting, let us know!

If you’re in the northeast, one of the most upbeat conventions we’ve ever been to is GWCEA’s National Capital Christian Education Conference. This convention has a new name and new location Hyattsville, MD, for 2011. GWCEA packs the house with volunteers from the surrounding area, and they are some of the most passionate children’s ministry champions ever!

And for those of you that plan way in advance, be sure to mark your calendar for Group’s KidMin Conference. We’re very excited that Group is once again holding a national convention for children’s ministry workers and teams. Becki and I and other KidZ team members are definitely planning on being in Chicago on Oct 7-10, 2011.

If you’re looking for a less expensive regional training, KidZ At Heart offers some alternative events: KidZtitute! and KidZ Live! These “double-dip” weekends are designed to have specific impact on both leaders and volunteers. At KidZtitute! we focus our attention on the leaders and trainers in children’s ministry on Thursday and Friday. KidZtitute! also includes KidZ Live on Saturday morning where we invite you to bring your volunteers for three dynamic and practical workshops. Join us in 2011 in Jacksonville, FL (February 24-26), Nashville, TN (April 28-30), Corvallis, OR (September 22-24), Minneapolis, MN (October 20-22), Cleveland, OH (November 3-5).  (Our session in Minneapolis will be bilingual!)

What’s your favorite training event and why?
