Do you go cross-cultural?

After years in the trenches of local-church children’s and family ministry, Becki and I felt called to go cross-cultural! KidZ At Heart International (www.kidZatheart.org) exists to equip people around the world to reach and teach kids within their own culture.

As a children’s leader, have you ever felt “overlooked” when that exciting short-term trip is being planned? It even happens in churches where the children’s ministry team is heavily invested in teaching kids about missions.

Of course, almost every children’s pastor has had the experience of the missions team leader coming in on Thursday afternoon to ask, “Can you teach me how to lead a VBS in Mexico? And could you gather all the supplies for it? And did I mention we’re leaving tomorrow afternoon?”

Over the next few weeks, we’d love to hear from you about your experiences with short-term trips. Have you gone on one? Have you gotten to use your passion and skills with kids? What would help you be able to go and be effective?

Here’s our first poll just to get started!
